I write songs. How do I go about marketing them to musicians? - angela d - 01-16-2013 09:41 AM

I love to write lyrics and always have a melody to accompany them. I don't read or write music though. Not to brag, but, I know my songs are good because when I'm working on one and singing it, other people ask which band or performer sings it. I am 43 years old and would love to hear one my songs on the radio someday!

Hello

It will not be a direct answer to your question, but you may get an idea. I am in the same boat as you are in . I am an artist and want to market my art works to people but I am not clear about the marketing strategy about this. So we are in a similar position. But things that you can do are
1) create a "My Space" or Facebook kind of social website blog post. and let people know you are lyricist and a singer.
2) try to ask one or two of your musician friend, who can help you to tune your work. And can help you to create some music track.
3) with those Tracks record your self and put them in YOUTUBE...

Also in the weekend paper you can give a little add which will cost you not more that 50 dollars at maximum ..Probably u can be pick up..

Did you try your nearest church ? They are good source too.

Believe your self it will happened one day
