when you search for people to follow, some of them have blue ticks next to them. i was thinking that because some people make up fake profiles, could it be that the ones with the blue ticks are 'real'? x

The Blue Ticks are usually used to signify the profile of the person is real.
Usually Blue Ticks are only placed on a profile where identity is usually confused. Basically, it shows you which is the real celebrity out of a number of different people pretending to be them.
