My VPN is having a DNS problem (stalls on Waiting for server). The fix doesn't change my IP address.? - escapefromspringfield - 01-16-2013 09:58 AM

I am in China so I need a VPN to access Facebook, IMDB.com, Twitter, Etc.

However, when using my VPN facebook works perfectly but when I visit webpages with content from multiple sources (such as optimizely), I get stuck on WAITING for xxxx.xxx.com). Sometimes the art will show up and the content will stall for ever. Sometimes the content will appear only when I navigate away from the page... Going back doesn't help.

I fixed this problem (based on suggestions on another forum) by changing the Network setting for the VPN (TCP/IP advanced) and unchecked USE DEFAULT GATEWAY ON REMOTE NETWORK. This solved the waiting for BUT FACEBOOK, HULU, Twitter, doesn't work at all. My DNS is GoogleDNS 8.8.8.8 set on my router. Because my IP address still reads China.

Maybe email your VPN providers support department.
