Do you ever feel bad for "fangirls"? - victoriouslace325 - 01-16-2013 10:23 AM

I don't mean the usual fangirl. The OBSESSED fangirl. If you go on twitter, there are thousands and thousands if these girls who dedicate their entire lives to a celebrity. They spend every second of every day posting pictures of their celebrity, talking about them, having conversations with other people from their fandom. They have admitted to spending their entire day watching videos, going on tumblr and looking at pictures and learning every single thing about them, tweeting them all day long hoping for a response, there's girls who have been doing this over a celebrity for years.

It looks exhausting! ! They're the first thing they talk about in the morning, the last thing they talk about before they go to sleep, and everything in between. I mean it literally consumes their entire day every single day. I feel like they're missing out on more important things in life......and I couldn't imagine thinking about one person every second of every day for years. Ya know? How do you feel about this...

Man I didn't know it could get that bad! Poor fangirls, especially full-blown directioners, They're CRAZY!!!! Hope I never become obsessed like that.

No, I don't feel bad for them. Ever.

No, i pity them that they want to waste their lives like that but i don't feel sorry, they choose to do it.

Yes, I feel really bad for them.

My sister is one, actually. Which is why she just sits in her bed all day and talks about 2pm (She's a K-Pop fangirl) on twitter. And she watches their live streams. And she meets up with other fangirls she met through the internet. It's weird. Now that my sister lost her job, it's all she does. she also draws anime of her and her favorite singer from 2pm.

And yea, my sister never even knows what day it is. She is older than me, she doesn't know how to cook or clean. And has no will to learn. I seriously think she is an internet addict, I don't mind what she listens to. But she needs to get her butt off the computer. She doesn't want to go to college or anything. I don't know what to do about it.

Sort of. While I think it's great that a celebrity can make someone so happy, it's sad that they can't become close friends with the fan. It's really sad that the celebrity becomes such a huge priority for the fan.

I remember I used to obsess over Gerard Way when I was 12. Not in a OMG-he's-so-hot way; I mean I felt like someday we'd be best friends. I decided that until that day came I would simply pretend he was my friend. As his BFF, I spent hours watching MCR videos, stalking their site, and listening to their music.

It hurt SO BAD when I realized this would never happen. It makes me a little misty-eyed when I think about it, even 2 years later.

I think it's there fault for starting, but then there addicted. Kind of like how you feel about a drug addict, they never should have started, but you feel bad they can't stop...

I find them annoying too though. With all the research those people have done they could have found some important stuff!

It's terrible that they feel connected to random people they have never met, and get angry if anyone likes them more. I dont understand how you can start "falling in love" and spending your whole day on a bunch of random famous people.

How does it happen? Is there a science to it or something?

I honestly don't. I don't feel bad for them. I find it quite pathetic that someone would dedicate everything they have just for one guy or girl to notice them. It's quite sad to me.

No, I am one. It's honestly not that bad. I'm an "obsessed fan-girl" in like 5 fandoms, and it's fine. I tweet them hoping for a response and it's worked twice. It's fun I guess.. haha
