Twitter is important to some but not all. Some use it for updates on sports, business, world/local news, celebrity accounts, comedy, or keeping in touch with friends. If you would like to set up an account you can start following people, businesses, organizations that are interesting to you and see if you like it. Many people waste their time with twitter feeds, however some have added it to their daily lives and have even replaced other forms of technology. It is extremely efficient and effective in getting a message out to the masses in a short period of time. It can also be manipulated to start a rumor that spreads like wildfire. We could debate the pros and cons of twitter for days but ultimately it is up to the individual to use caution and discretion in what they read on ANY internet community, including Y!A.
