It all depends on who you add as a friend. I know people who have thousands of friends so only a few of their comments or wall posts are personal.
What is your definition of spam?

It really all depends on who you are friends with and what you consider spam:
Twitter:
You can see what people write if you follow them. If you follow people who post crappy messages, you'll end up reading crap. Besides that; Once you follow people, they can send you private messages. (direct message). Depending on who you follow, that person can/will send you such messages. People you do not follow can mention you, by including your twitter @username in their tweets. Those messages show up in a special folder in your tweet window.
My personal experience is: Follow spammers and you'll be spammed, follow trustworthy friends and you'll be fine.
MySpace
My experience is that people send you messages, want to be friends and dump a load of crap on your profile. MySpace allows to put pictures in the comments section. That is widely used to post ads for band, gigs and other stuf. Personally I find MySpace to be messy.
Well.. here it realy depends on what you consider spam. If you don't mind reading about someone's achievements in Farmville, or countless invitations to quizzes, groups, fan pages, etc.. you'll be fine. Luckily there is a function in Facebook that let's you filter out such messages. So in the end you can have a facebook that actually shows your friends messages and pictures.
In my experience Facebook only the friends you invite can spam you. So, if you choose your friends wisely, you may end up without too much spam. Create a large network of people you hardly know, and Facebook will be a spam-frenzy.

Yup it depends on who you add
Also NEVER click unknown links people send sometimes
this can happen on any website
So .. You cant call them spam sites
