Okay so I'm a Justin Bieber/One Direction fan account. PLEASE DONT COMMENT ON THAT. THAT'S NOT WHAT THIS QUESTION IS ABOUT.
So about 4 nights ago I went to sleep with almost 1,900 followers. The next morning I opened my twitter app and it said I had 15.4 thousand followers. I thought it was just a glitch because its happened before. But I asked my followers and they said they were seeing the same thing.
So I looked through my followers list and kept refreshing and refreshing and none of my new followers were fan accounts like they are 98% of the time. They were all just random accounts with people's normal names all with a very small amount of followers.
It looks like I bought the followers or something but seriously I didn't.
I have an application that tweets on my account everyday how many followers I've lost and gained and it said overnight I gained 13,400 something.
How did this happen? If you know it would be so helpful for you to tell me!

Maybe it is a joke of your friend? It is possible for small money to buy friends on Facebook or followers on Tweeter. It is also possible that someone has paid by mistake in one of the follower shopping sites (on the internet there are hundreds of websites for that purpose. I leave in source link to one buying site, just to see how it works)
