For example, what if it cost money to use Google,Yahoo, Myspace, Twitter, Facebook, or Wikipedia?

If it was a site I have truly benefited from, and at the same time a subscription model could benefit the developer, I would probably pay.
It all comes down to what it's worth to me.
Edit: More specifically, I probably wouldn't pay for Google, because there are other search engines. However, I see Wikipedia as an important knowledge base, so I would be more inclined to pay for that.
