Twitter is a web based service. It is unlikely to have a virus, and it can't send a virus through a line of text.

Most likely your computer is infected though. Run a virus scan on your computer, while disconnected from the internet. There's several decent, free anti-virus programs out there. Best to run at least 2 tests with different programs.

Sounds like your twitter account got hacked. All you should have to do is change your password.

Accounts don't get viruses, computers get viruses. Your computer is most likely infected and spamming people in your twitter feed or whatever it's called.

There are many ways to scan and clean out a computer, just do a few Google searches to find the best methods.

Your computer got a virus not twitter. Use antivirus program.
