I don't like my blue exclamation point. How can I change it to one of those avatar people?

Go to your yahoo profile, go to settings, then go to privacy. Make your profile visible, then go back to ''your profile'', click your picture ( blue excamation), click ''change picture'' then you're done.

1)Go to your yahoo profile (you can do this by clicking the blue exclamation point on this question.
2) Click Edit My Preferences
3) Click update photo

You can use a photo or a Yahoo! cartoon avatar, and if you have a Facebook or Twitter account, you can also use those avatars.
Go to: http://profile.yahoo.com/y/settings/privacy/ - make sure your profile isn't hidden, because if it is, your avatar won't show.
If you want a cartoon avatar, go here to create one: http://avatars.yahoo.com/ - then click on "Yahoo!" under "Export your Avatar".
In case you want to use a Facebook or Twitter avatar, you need to link those accounts in the Profile options.

You have several options in case you want a photo avatar:
a) go to your Yahoo! Answers settings at http://answers.yahoo.com/my-activity/edit/about , click "Update photo or avatar",
b) go to your Yahoo! Profile at http://profile.yahoo.com/ , click on the current avatar.
Now upload a picture or choose one of the pics you've uploaded previously.

You must first change your profile from hidden to public or your avatar won't show. To do that: Click your avatar, click view your profile, click settings top right. Under privacy click manage privacy settings uncheck hide my profile Click save. Then.
You could choose either a cartoon or a photo avatar
Cartoon, this way is fast, straight forward and easy. Go below, create your avatar and save. Then, click your current default avatar then click edit my preferences and you will see where to check use avatar.

You could also create a personal avatar below save it to you pc then upload it as a photo.

Click on your current avatar then click edit my preferences to the right of your default avatar click update photo. Follow the prompts to upload it from your pc.
