Well it shows what most religions really want doesn't it.

Yeah - I've seen the atheists try to twist this tragedy to further their gospel 5 or 6 times today. Sad

Is it taking advantage or using your brain?

- Deep Blue - 01-17-2013 05:08 PM

Yes, it is BEYOND wrong. It just shows that there is no limit to how underhanded organized religion can be.

Its wrong to take advantage of tragedy for any purpose, except perhaps immediate survival in a life & death situation.

Is it wrong to take advantage of a retard (aka Eric Hovind) to vilify an entire group of people who probably don't think that way at all?

I'd say you're just as bad.

You're right banana guy, we should make sure no new people get in the church this weekend. We would not want them to be there because of some emotional outburst pushed them out of their rational logical naturalistic world now would we? After all, the increase in church attendance after 9/11 was temporary.

That depends entirely on what is in your (or whoever's) heart.

If you come upon a tragedy and feel compassion and wish to give those remaining something eternally valuable which will comfort them, God knows what your motives are.

And if your unconscious motivation has more to do with your ego racking up a soul count, God knows about that, too.

And there are some sensible mortals among us who can just listen to your tone of voice at such a scene and tell which one you are, as well.

intent

if the intent is to convert for personal gain yes, if the intent is to convert in order to provide comfort then its something to be admired
