Nobody knows who UserJoe9 is, so UserJoe9 is anonymous. This user would only be visible to me if he sent me a direct message.
This is a bit like standing in the street and trying to anonymously shout someone's name. If they know you, then it isn't anonymous. If they don't know you, then it makes no difference - you're pretty anonymous to them.
