How to help my teen set this up? - kathya - 01-21-2013 03:44 AM

My daughter makes and sells things in her spare time. She has made pretty decent profit from this. She makes and sells:
crafts
candies/cakes/sweets
gift baskets
baby stuff
candles
soap
jewlery
tshirts/hats

People said she should make this a business. Right now she just sells these at flea markets and resale booths. But I convinced her try making a website to selll things. How do I get her dtarted? What website, how to do trransactions? What's a good website with informatiom about this?

She's 16

Some of my friends that do this make facebook pages and update and advertise constantly.

They post pictures of what they make with the prices on facebook, and it really goes from there. People put in requests, and they make them. A lot of people I know make decent money from it.

Also, for her handmade crafts, try Etsy.com
It is similar to ebay but only for handmade or vintage items. Transactions are usually through paypal. The only downside would be going to the post office to ship your items frequently. But it seems like something your daughter could be open to.
