I have a twitter account named "PetroDrops". It has a few number of Geologists, Petroleum engineers, editors as its followers. I would like to interact with them through the messages service. I am not able to understand how do I begin interacting and put forward my questions. Please provide me with some tips.

in order to message them they have to follow you first if you wanna write a tweet about them you can type @ and than there twitter username and than the message

Well if you can simply do @theirname and than the message.
You can also go to their page and click on the message button (in new twitter interface) or you can click on the mention(theirname) option.
