What is the best website to blog for a business? - PN1 - 01-21-2013 06:18 PM

I'm looking to start a blog to promote a business, and I need to know what the best website is to do so. Specifically, which blogging website:

1) allows one to use their own domain name
2) has the ability to embed the blog within a website
3) allows buttons for readers to share on Facebook, Twitter, etc.,
4) allows people to comment without having to register, and
5) looks the most professional.

Any suggestions?

You need to buy a domain on GoDaddy or Yahoo to do all of the things you want to do. The free blog sites (blogspot, etc) have restrictions.

For a business blog you want to go with WordPress.org

It can do everything you want it do and more.

Buy a domain (will cost approx $7 a month for hosting). I suggest BlueHost.

Install WordPress from the .org not .com and start to design.

There is a free guide in the resources below.

One the best sites for having your own blog is wordpress. Users are often confused about wordpress.org and wordpress.com, if you want to have wordpress blog hosted at wordpress.org you can. You can even link your own domain name to it. Wordpress.org does have many limitations. As an example many of the commercially ready plug-ins are not allowed on wordpress.org website. This can be quite limiting if you want to expand your web blog in the future. If you want the have a wordpress Blogging tool that you have more control over, try to get it from a site such as Godaddy. You can get your hosting company to setup the wordpress blog for you so you don't have to deal with setting that up yourself. Once it is done you will have a link to connect to and be an admin to manage your blog. It is very powerful and very inexpensive. It is a little difficult to find the place to do this on Godaddy site. I will include this as resources to this answer. enjoy and happy blogging. By the way I have no affiliation to Godaddy, you can do the same exact thing with other companies.
