I used to kind of do that. If you feel comfortable, you can do that if it helps. Try that for a bit and see if that makes you comfortable, but realize that they are permanent for all to search through google.
I am in somewhat the same boat and find that I need someone to talk to.

Start with just a journal. If you find that is still not satisfying you, start a blog, but sensor it. Don't use real names, if you're writing about someone named sarah smith, change it to Sally Smyth. Invent a name for your city. Using a state is ok, but don't use a real city. Don't use your name. In other words use common sense. Remember though, once you post something you can never get it back.

If you feel a need to, then do so with caution. As others have mentioned, don't use real names. I would add - don't post any pictures, and don't provide sufficient details where people may be able to figure out who you are. For example, don't say "I have 3 cats (tabby, calico and siamese), I live in a 2 story gray house in SomeTown", etc. Be more vague: "I have cats. I live in a rural town." I also would defintely stay away from social networks like Twitter and Facebook and the like, where people friend you. Facebook and probably other sites track your data so that they can extrapolate who might like to friend you, etc. And other people can use certain keywords to find "long-lost friends" just by characteristics like you types of cats. So anyway, just be careful and you'll be fine.
