Passwords are getting unmanageable, any advice? - Colin - 01-22-2013 07:01 AM

I have a paypal password I can remember, and I can cope with the security on my bank account. That's about all I can manage. The other passwords get confused, which one for which service etc. So I simply stop using those services. And passwords can be reset ... sorry that just adds another layer of confusion. I am happy to stop using twitter etc, but it seems a pity.

For unmanageable passwords you need a password manager. You just remember the passsword for the manager software (which never leaves your computer) and then fill in all the other passwords from there.

1Password is very good but there are numerous others.

if you are not on a shared computer cant you just get your PC to remember them or keep a book with them in it (except your bank and paypal ones and any other important ones)

You need a password manager that protects all your passwords with 1 password. KeyPass is free & it is also available as a portable version.

PS Don't forget the master password.
