I've seen it on fb and other sites where ppl r like #lovedancing #meandmybff and stuff like tht!! Please don't just say it means number!! Thanx!!

its a hashtag. People use it on twitter because doing "#" is linking to a whole page full of people talking about the same thing you are. say for instance on twitter you write #puppies in turns into a link.. and when you click on it, it goes to a page full of people talking about puppies. Anyone who uses it on facebook is either doing tit to be obnoxious, or is just kind of dumb.
