Whats an easy, cheap way to make a professional band website? - Mike - 01-22-2013 08:28 PM

I have a domain and webhosting thru yahoo small business. I have photoshop and dreamweaver. basic html knowlege. Id like a band page with photos, streaming music and video, tour dates, and links to our facebook, twitter etc.

Something that is easily updated.

I was thinking of downloading a template from the net and customizing.

what would you guys suggest?

Downloading a template would be the best way to go if you have basic HTML knowledge. As long as you can read the basic tags, updating it should be no issue. However, alot of templates contain CSS coding in them as well, so learning a little basic css wouldnt hurt either. As far as streaming videos, putting them on youtube, then using their embed code wouldnt be too bad. However, you do have to keep in mind how much bandwidth your web host is allowing you, so your sites not up for a couple days, then shut down bc you used too much, lol.

Check out http://webnode.com

I have a free website on webnode where I share my own music: http://guitarteen.webnode.com but you can pay to have your own domain name. Webnode is a really easy way to make a professional looking music site.

Hope that helps!
