What Web Search Engine is this?!?!? - Tasha - 01-23-2013 11:47 AM

Someone I know used to have a search engine. I believe it was powered by bing.
The search engine itself sort of looked like the one on google.com, but right below it there were squares with the icons for Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Google, etc. in small squares. You could click on the icon and it would take you directly to the site.

What search engine is it & where can I get it?!?!?!

Technically it is not a search engine if it is powered by Bing. What you are actually looking for is a webpage that contains a search engine with icons that link to webpages. If I am correct in assuming that you are interested in having the links to your favorite webpages you can try creating a custom homepage with google. Here you can customize the page with whatever links you would like and even add "gadgets" like clocks and RSS feeds for neww, weather, facebook, and tweets.

Of course there are other providers of the content you have described, not just google. I am simply assuming it was the google homepage since it was using Bing.

Alternately it would be extremely simple for someone with zero programming or webpage coding skills to create a basic webpage as you have described in around a half hour. It would be completely custom to how you want it. Just open a word document, add a quarry box that links to Bing and place the icons you want along with the hyperlinks wherever you want on the page. Save as a webpage somewhere on your computer. Then go to your browser and set your new website as a a local homepage.
