Write blogs, help yourself with social media platform. Twitter and facebook would help you. Write some articles about the site and features. If you can do SEO or ask some expert to optimize the site according to the website category. If you are asking some expert to make some quality backlinks, make sure that they are using white hat link building techniques.
Else get help of a traffic generation service providers like maxtraffic.us who can drive online visitors on you website.

You can start out with high page rank backlinks that you can do yourself.
You could try buying a few from fiverr.com,but if you do it this way you will know that it is done correctly.
Some of these links are dead,but use what you can.
The higher the page rank that your back links are the higher your site will be ranked.Bookmarks are very good,no matter what field you are in.

If you want to generate a lot of good quality backlinks, I would suggest you to start creating good contents that people would like to share. Creating good content for people to share is the most basic in generating backlinks. Once you have the contents, you can share it among Social Media platforms or provide the contents as guest blogs to get backlinks back to your website.

If you want to increase your website rank for the search engine, other than getting more backlinks, you will also need to do on-page SEO so that Search Engines will know what your website is about and will appear on SERP if keywords related to your website are being searched.
