ok i my friend is following me and i m following his, he lives in Canada and i m in India so whenever i open his account his last tweet was 23Hr ago or 17Hr ago, he use twitter whole day except night, so how can i know that he is online? (don't ask 4 what? it's my personal) and don't tell me to use FB or something else just tell me how to know that my friend is online on twitter?

You can't really get those 'online chat' thing like on Facebook that has the number of people that are online. Basically, when you open someone's twitter and you see like their last tweet was 1 minute ago or something near that, that means they're online. If you use iPhone, you can turn on the notification that allows you to receive their tweets, that could possibly help when you want to know if your friend is online. (Maybe also in some apple products and android)
