The Elysian Fields..is the Greeks idea of "Heaven", a beautiful place for good spirits to dwell in the afterlife.....Most people do call Heaven paradise. The only odd thing about the Elysian Fields is its located in the underworld and ruled over by Hades...The God of the underworld.

There's Hera's garden where she has her apples of immortality, the Elysian Fields which is basically heaven, Olympus is basically made of gold. That's it really. Lot more hell - like places.

In Greek mythology, the Hesperides are nymphs who tend a blissful garden in a far western corner of the world. The Garden of the Hesperides is the goddess Hera's orchard in the west, where a grove of immortality-giving golden apples grew. Of Hercules twelve labors, the eleventh labor was to steal the apples of the Hesperides.

The Greeks shared the Egyptian belief that the realm of the Underworld lay in the west and the setting sun.
They also believed that neither the Underworld nor its ruler Hades was particularly evil in intent.
It was just as necessary as the Upperworld, and its reputation as a dark, menacing place probably derives from the myths of Persephone's abduction by Hades and Orpheus' search for Eurydice.

Mount Olympus was virtually out-of -bounds to others; the lesser gods, mortals and others.
A jewelled magnificient palace beyond decription.
There were also beautiful places in the Underworld as in the Upperworld and Heaven.

There were several regions of Tartarus: Asphodel Fields, where ordinary souls would twitter forever like birds and bats;
the Pool of Lethe , where souls drink to wipe out all memory of their lives, and its opposite, the Pool of Memory.
There were also a place for evil souls called the Punishment Fields,and
one for those who had been virtuous called the orchards of Elysium .....known as the Heaven in Hell, a very beautiful place.
In the Upperworld , Hera's garden was,indeed, a very beautiful place, the place of the Apple of Immortality , an orchard tended by the Herperiades and guarded by a fearsome dragon.

Beautiful places ..... beautiful dreams.
