Is web of trust google chrome extension trustworthy ? - Andy - 01-24-2013 10:42 PM

On clicking add to chrome it asks -
1. this add on will access all your data on all websites you visit
2. this add on will have access to all your tabs

i am ok with 2nd one but what does 1st mean - does it have access to my user id and password of my various accounts - yahoo, gmail, facebook, twitter etc.
WHAT DOES - ACCESS ALL YOUR DATA ON ALL WEBSITES MEAN ?
( i have noted it has 7 million users but i have my doubts hence the Q)

Andy there is no need to worry about anything there. All apps in Chrome Web Store are trustworthy. The extensions require all that access so that they can work properly. You can read this page for more info - http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/chrome-plugins-access-all-data-browsing-activity/
That WOT extension is also trustworthy. However I never install it because it is useless. What it gives to you? You also know whether a webpage is trustable or not. And if any page is not trustable, Google will tell you in advance. You can install WOT without worrying about anything. You can install any extension from the Web Store. Reviews always help you and always see 'Recent' reviews rather than most helpful.
