Text message memory full!!? - Lazy-assedspace867 - 01-26-2013 03:07 AM

My text message capacity was full on my phone, and I've only just noticed, so it must have been like that all last night!

I was wondering, if i've been sent any messages during this time, should they still come through now I've freed up some space?

Don't know if it depends on the phone you have, but i've got a samsung j700i if that helps!

Thanks in advance!

Good Afternoon N

I'm part of the Vodafone Web Relations team and would like to offer some help and advice.

Most networks have a maximum time of 72 hours that they will continue to try sending a text message. If your handset is unable to receive a message (if your switched off, out of signal or your inbox is full) the network will keep trying to send the message to you for up to 72 hours. If your phone is not available to accept the message at this time, the message is then lost and will fail.

Lots of phones have the option in message settings to change the 'Validity Period' (how long your phone will try to send a text for) and network maximum will usually be 72 hours, depending on the network that you are with.

If you have any other questions we have our own Twitter page where we also provide support, follow us and we're on call whenever you have a question!

Hope this helps
