Can anyone give me benefits of social media? - Tatiana - 01-26-2013 04:35 PM

Hi guys, I have an English assessment coming up and my topic is Should the Age Limit of Social Networking Sites Be Raised? I have a lot of information for why the facebook age limit should be raised however I can't find much about why it is fine where it is. Can someone help please?

Because of sexting, younger teens are not mature enough to have a facebook. They see people smoking weed and drinking acholol is a bad idea.

Firstly, children these days can still simply LIE when they're joining facebook.
I really don't see a benefit these days with immature kids being on facebook but, I suppose if the usage is well monitored by their parents, it could become a little more innocent where teens are just communicating and playing Farmville and ItGirl with their distant cousins and friends. Not to mention the phonebill is not running up.

I firmly believe, the cons outweigh the pros though.

Probably in the context of sending and receiving breaking news that are relevant to society.

This may be akin to weeding an ear of corn from countless numerous useless stalks.
If sent in a timely manner, a good photgraph will be a source of unbiased news for the whole world.

If the Facebook age limit is as low as 13 like Answers I think it should certainly be raised to at least 16.It horrifies me children of 13 talking to adults.!
I am not much of a fan of these sites although I am a member of both Facebook and Twitter I dont participate. I think we have had a lot of well publicised problems with them recently.

I trust those on my social media site, FB, a lot more than I do mainstream media.

Social media has many benefits. From an entrepreneur's perspective, it has tremendous amount of advantages.

Since there is no age limit on entrepreneurship, I wonder why there should be any age limit on the use of Facebook and any social networking sites. It is just a common sense.

Why social media and networking can be used for success in business as currently done by people from all backgrounds, all age brackets, you may want to check out a post I came across today that talks about "How to leverage social media for business success".
