tips for getting my small at home business off the ground? - farfette - 01-27-2013 02:11 PM

I own my own business but it seems to be going no where. I make jewelry and felt crafts for children. Any tips or tricks?

Not knowing what you already have, start by selling on ebay and other sites that are similar. They have a large audience to get your product in front of people. Make sure you have a professional logo. Get a website where you can provide information about your business and products. Make it look as professional as possible. You can sell products without a merchant account by using Paypal or Google Checkout but to look more professional you may want to get a merchant account to accept all credit cards directly.

Next focus on marketing. Use Facebook to create a business page and promote you business there. Twitter and LinkedIn are also good for marketing. The other marketing thing is to keep in contact with your previous customers. If they've had a good experience keep your name in front of them by sending them newsletters or some form of email marketing.

Advertising it through tv, radios, and publishing in newspapers.
