What will the police do about this? (Please Help)? - LemonJuice - 01-30-2013 06:38 AM

I got someone I have been joke fighting with on twitter's number from a website online, posted it on my twitter. Then called it 2 times, I didn't say anything, I forgot to block my number. I didn't harass them or anything, all I did was call him and then hang up. I did this twice. What will the police do if he calls them, and my cell provider? Thanks.

There is no crime in hang-up calls. If anything you can claim a butt dial.

Nothing.u didn't say anything to him. So jus say u dial the wrong number?

Depending on the state, you can be charged with misdemeanor harassment via telephone, which normally carries a sentence of 6 months in jail.

It isn't a crime to call someone and if the police ask you say you wanted to talk to him/her but got nervous so you didn't say anything

They can't do anything. Think of it from the police's point of view. A guy calls them and tells them "Yeah me and this guy have been joking around on twitter and he ended up calling me twice without saying anything"

If anything they'll charge him with something for wasting their time.

Unless you haven't threatend someone in any way, you'll be fine. They'll just take it as a joke.

In short: nothing. Even if he tried to report it they would just shake their heads. Not worth their time at all. You've got to do a lot more than what you did to get the cops' attention.

They'll probably be all like "What's this guy's problem? We have real crimes to solve." They might give you a talking to as a formality, but if this guy is that much of a sackless deuce that he can't up the ante on two ring-and-druns, you should probably go even weirder.

Write his number on a bathroom stall, preceded by the words, "For a good time call:". Or find his address and do a turd on his lawn. Or find his Facebook account and make a duplicate account and friend all of his friends and say "Hey guys, my other account got hacked, so friend this one and not that one." And then, just post stuff like "I like 2 eat my own poop" and stuff that would be really embarrassing for his friends and family to see.
