What should I be concerned about on Facebook? - michele - 01-31-2013 01:38 AM

I am finally giving up on youtube since my friends have moved over. Plus, I am getting a lot of stuff I don't remember signing up for. So, with a fresh start I don't want to fall into the same situation. Does the type of computer security you are using help deal with it all?

Stay away the gov't will steal your identity and sell everything you like to marketing agents.

no not really, with facebook there is alot of personal stuff on there. so to tackle this problem just add friends...most people just add everyone and this puts them in danger. Another thing to worry about is likes, you can like pages and they just keep posting pointless rubbish so be careful about what you like. Dont allow access of facebook on your phone because some people regularly get their phone nicked and people post stuff on your wall. Put up your facebook security up to a high level so only some people can see your profile and only certain people can send you messages because some people just send random messages which is quite annoying. Errmm besides the above nothing much else to worry about

Wasting countless and useless hours posting and reading crap about friends, most of whom you don't know.

Make sure who you really are adding
Make sure they are really your friends and they dont make fun of you
Ive been in that situation before so be warned

and also if you get the timeline be careful of who can see what
its a little less secure than the wall (just be careful with it)
