Is Twitter a good place to promote my website? - JasonD - 10-12-2012 12:58 AM

How effective is Twitter for driving traffic to my website? What are your suggestions for making it more effective?

It would be effective if you get a lot of followers

Perfect; but you have to have a decent amount of followers for it to work better. Try Facebook first though. It'll be easier

Yes. It is the best.

Twitter is not as effective as it seems as a promotion tool, but it does work if you have the right strategy. Twitter is a microblogging platform which means that your followers must click on an external link if they want more information than allowed by the 140 characters. I have had some success by building a large following of targeted followers. You need to experiment with hash tags, the best time of day to tweet, and use services to schedule your tweet.

Go to this site and register. You can earn free tokens by visiting other sites, liking , sharing,
tweeting, following, etc. Then you can use the tokens you get to have people do the same thing
for your site. The best, other than being free, thing about this is that the visitors are real
and you get social back links from these real people too. They share your stuff to their real
friends. You can get real google +'s face book likes and shares, twitter followers, and traffic
to your site all in one place. FOR FREE.
