Okay so, my mum now has Twitter.. But I don't want her to see my tweets, I've blocked her but she can still view my profile. Is there any other way I can stop her from seeing my profile without protecting tweets as it makes it awkward for everyone else?

No its impossible to hide it from someone if your tweets are public.
You have 2 options
1. Make your Tweets private
or
2. Accept your mom will read your tweets.
Why? Because even if you "block" her, she can just not login and see your tweets by directly searching your name.

Yes, it's possible.
1) Change your username. Anything far from your name.
2) Change your avatar. Do not upload a picture of you. (same with your profile background)
3) Edit your bio. Do not write your real name and your location.

that is impossible your best bet would be to protect your tweets
