never had a phone like this. wondering if it just sends texts to your phone when you get a message on facebook or friend request. or does it have to do with internet?

is it the Facebook app that came installed with the phone or you downloaded from the market than you need internet.
if you are getting text msg from Facebook like friend req and notification than its a regular SMS charge.
