Why do you think parents name their kids these stupid names? - Jasmine - 02-02-2013 03:11 AM

For example, the twitter happy people who named their daughter "hashtag" or the woman who's daughter was just born at 12:12 on 12,12,12 named Forever or even the people who named their kid "Like". Seriously, what are we doing? Do you not think that you've set your kids up for isolation and bullying? For it all to be your fault.
I mean I'm all for unique and creative names, but naming your kids these names is like tearing them like pets. You name your pets these names, but your kids. Don't be surprised when they grow up hating you. That 5,000 dollars it takes to legally change your man is worth it.

Well, who cares?
This is a new age (era)
I'm pretty sure the new generation of kids will have the weirdest names anyway.

I agree, that is just plain ridiculous. I think those people are looking for attention. It's selfish to do that through their child though, they never did anything to deserve that

I totally agree with you. I think these people are the perfect example of why we should licence people to have kids. I know that would never work, but it might stop idiodic names from getting out there.

I know..I much prefer the names from the 1900's! Hashtag, really? I really don't know why people would name their kids awful names like this, and I don't want to know why.

I'm all for unique names. I don't want my child to be another Justin or Brittany in the sea of Justins' and Brittanys, but people are really taking this too far! Hashtag, really?! These people think they are being cute and trendy when really they are borderline retarded.

It reay depends on the parents and their choice of names we all have different opinions and the name forever I find cute and nice where as you don't. See we all have different opinions and sometimes when we speak our opinions it turns out to be in a bullying kind of way as if you were to directly say what you said to anyone of those parents it'd be considered bullying. Soo yeah it's really up to what the parents find beautiful and amusing. Some names are strange, weird, sentimental, but all are unique.(:

I like uncommon names, but not weird or retarded ones. I don't like common names personally. I'm also partical to traditional names. They're this weird mentality that a 'unique' name will make the child more special. It doesn't. At all. This includes misspelt names.

How about Destyny Starr, Adolf Hitler, Journey (because it was a 'journey' for her mother to become pregnant), Tula Does The Hula From Hawaii (yes, an entire name), Blue Ivy, Beautiful, Number 16 Busshelter, Myykayyla, Xakeri, Fish and Chips (twins).

Yeah...those names are ridiculous. I do like "Journey" though.
FYI, it costs about $200 to change your name in the u.s. I did it.
