is this like another social networking site or something and are you able to twitter something cuse i heard this one joke that said twitter my yahoo and how do u twitter things.

Yes, Twitter is a social networking site, but you don't twitter something, you tweet it.
Once you make a twitter account, you can post tweets that are up to 140 characters long(including spaces).
You can also 'follow' people, which means that you can see their tweets.
