ok so someone at my high school started a twitter account based on rumors. But they spread actual things that people don't want known. Things that only me and a group of about 20 people know. Me and one of my friends are the only two out of this group that hasn't been tweeted about yet. So of course we are the reasonable ones to blame. I know how to pinpoint a location using an IP address and know where all these people live. So if I find out the ip address I can prove my innocence and find out who is behind it. I just don't know how to find someones IP address. Is there a way? Or some other way to find out who it is?

So far i know there is not any way to get IP address from Twitter except that you contact Twitter stuff and they give you.
One way that i know is to get another person so far that he/she send you email on your email account and then you can track sender IP address along with location with help of free IP tracers:

http://www.find-ip-address.org

At the moment there is no way that you can discover the location or IP address of a Twitter account. You should report it to Twitter as defamatory and they will be able to find the location for themselves.
