There is no oil is Afghanistan, al Qaeda was ruled by Osama, the Taliban were the main power in charge in Afghanistan until the coalition forces invaded, they are pretty much fascists that want Afghanistan to live in their narrow minded view point where women have no rights and must be honor killed if they break a single rule, and where basically everyone is an unintelligent goat fucker.

The Taliban are an Islamic fundamentalist political movement in Afghanistan. While in power, it enforced its strict interpretation of Sharia law, and leading Muslims have been highly critical of the Taliban's interpretations of Islamic law. The majority of their leaders were influenced by Deobandi fundamentalism, and many also strictly follow the social and cultural norm called Pashtunwali. The Taliban have been accused of using terrorism as a specific tactic to further their ideological and political goals.
Bin Laden was head of Al Qaeda, not Taliban.
