Is requiring members to donate $1 or $5 before registering to my sports networking site a good business model? - Gerard - 02-13-2013 07:02 PM I created a unique sports social networking website. I want to raise money for a Youth Foundation and the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and I want to do this by requiring members to pay/donate $1 or $5 prior to registering to my website. Is this a good model? - rusty_266 - 02-13-2013 07:10 PM No, not if you want members. Posting banners ads on your site with links to the charities themselves would work though. - bluest smurf - 02-13-2013 07:10 PM bad idea. no social media site every asks for a registration fee. although, you can register it as a not for profit business and put up a page appealing for donations. for putting up ads, you'll require a lot of traffic. |
