Twitter, Tumblr, and ESPECIALLY Instagram have boomed with anchors, anchors, EVERYWHERE. They're even on some band shirts and are quite popular now. What do they symbolize? Do they mean something specific?

They mean that you "refuse to sink" like that ur gonna stay strong no matter what happens to u and no matter what u go through.
