I'm new to Twitter, and only have a couple of followers. Is there a feature where I can search for followers by town, or school? I know you can browse by interests, but I want to find people I know too.

Tell people you know that you have a Twitter account and invite them to follow you. Mention it on your Facebook page. See who is following the people following you, and see if you recognize any of them (go to their profile and click on followers).
