I am trying to reach the first page on google's search results for the keyword of my full name. Are there any social networks other than facebook and myspace I can do this with? Any suggestions??
Anchor text and external links are very useful, but i would like to know some specific social network platforms I may use, for example: myspace, facebook, naymze, etc.

Post some anchor text links on the social media sites with your name as the clickable link. You'll get picked up that way. Especially if you've got a very unique name. You might get picked up quicker than you think.

linkedin is another good one to try. there are lot of social media and web 2.0 sites where you can setup profiles and setup bio pages as well. you can publish content on those sites (squidoo, hubpages, google knol, vox, flixya, xanga, and there are LOTS) and use anchor text backlinks to your other profile.
why not setup a site with your name in the domain and build anchor text backlinks to that domain? if you are interested in getting your name show up on #1 search result, then registering a domain name with your full name (if .con is not available then try .net or oher extension or use a dash) and building backlinks will be more efficient. this way you have only one site that you have to focus on and need to build backlinks for
