A classic problem related to this topic concerns coin flipping. Suppose we have a fair coin and flip eight heads in a row. What is the probability of getting heads on the ninth toss?

Thank you!

50%, the results from the previous tosses dont impact it on the current throw, even if you got heads a trillion times in a row, the odds remain 50%

hopes it helps..... xD

1/2

Each throw is an independent event, so previous history has no effect.

(To believe otherwise is the classic Gambler's Fallacy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambler%27s_fallacy ).
