if i use a copyright image can i be sued if i put it on my twitter account? or can i only be sued if its on a website i make.

That's impossible. The worst of the worst they could POSSIBLY do it tell you to take it down, or contact twitter about it.

It would be illegal to use a copyright image for anything without permission from the copyright holder. More than likely they'll only sue you if you continue to use it on your account after they've asked you to stop.

No, you can't be sued unless it endangers anyone's life or something like that.
But if its a normal photo, the worst that can happen is that it will be removed by Twitter.
That's it. So don't worry.

YES you can be sued by the copyright owner for infringement of their copyright.

ONLY the copyright holder or those with a proper license can publicly display the shot.
