My bf and i have been together 3 months. he is away for three weeks in Scotland and i am fine with that. we Skype and talk on phone and Facebook. at the end of march, he is going away again for 7 months. i dont know how to cope. also i am starting uni just after he comes back so wont see him then either. i just want some tips on how to cope without seeing him for 7 months. im 18 and hes 24. also what do u think of the age gap between us. thanks for your help
forgot to say it isnt for a holiday it is to work. he is a entertainer xx

Once you start uni, life changes. You won't even miss him. In fact, the relationship will fizzle out soon.

In my opinion, you guys are at two different places, right now. Now just because of the age difference, but because you guys want different things. I'm assuming you just graduated high school and is in college right? and he's basically graduated and wants to go out and explore the world. I'm not saying that he doesn't care about you, but trust me, if he wanted to stay with you, he would. 3 months is early in a relationship, and him just going away for 7 months without you is curious, and won't do anything for the relationship. My advice is to break it off for now, and when he comes back, see if you can restart the relationship from there. I almost guarantee you that if you two are together during this 7 month "exploration" there will be alot of unwanted pain and longing, and it's a long time to be waiting for someone. Good luck
