Relationship between social media usage and participation...need help with measurement process/variables...? - Jack - 02-18-2013 11:43 PM

Question: You are a researcher broadly studying the relationship between social media usage and in-class participation. Create a rough outline of the measurement process (i.e. what exactly would you want to measure and how will you conceptualize your variables - independent, dependent and control variables)?

-Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Good example of how the experiment is set up... http://www.academia.edu/1207835/The_relationship_between_frequency_of_Facebook_use_participation_in_Facebook_activities_and_student_engagement

The rough outline all depends on the direction you are aiming at. Some possible variables and processes to use are:

→independent and dependent variables
→simple random experiment
→surveys

Good luck!
