I joined facebook to keep in touch with my family and was happy with that. A few months ago I found people that I don't know appearing in the site. Now I cannot get on the site because I'm told that I have the wrong password and another person is booked in. I have tried going back but that does not work. I have had a virus removed and new anti virus programmes installed but facebook is still there and I cannot get rid of it. I'm still getting e.mail reminders. please help

It's on the internet, you can delete your account.

You can still gain control of your Facebook account and once you do, its up to you, what you want to do with it.
click on "forgot password" just below the password field, then it will tell you to enter your user name, phone or email address.
enter your " email id " there and click on search then it will show you the Facebook account linked with that email id.
click on "This is my account" and then choose "Email me a link to reset my password" and then click on continue.
open your email id and then click on the "rest password link you received from Facebook"
And then reset your password and loin into the account and whatever you like to do with your account.
