Attracting customers to my website? - Sandeep - 02-19-2013 09:16 AM

I have recently started web development. So far, I've read development articles, blogs, tutorials, etc about building web applications. I'm actually planning a website with a potentially high number of users.

My question:
1) How can I attract users to my website?

2) Even if there are other websites with very similar features out there, what can I do to give my website the edge?

All comments are appreciated.
Thanks.

Lots of pictures of big breasted women showing cleavage. It may be a little unprofessional but as your numbers skyrocket you can laugh at the competition for judging you.

In order to drive traffic to your site, user should get something valuable out of it that would join more hands and bring back more users for your site. Customers are the best advertisers, promotes or demotes when compared to other sources of advertising. Here are my ideas to float your page on top.

1. SEO
2. Write articles, blogs, which is related to your website theme.
3. Advertise your website through Google Ad sense, news paper, social networking etc.
4. Add your website name in your signature in every mail you write/forward/reply to your colleagues and have it printed in your business card.
5. Conduct Polls & Survey and publish the result at once.
6. Get the feedback about your websites; publish it in your site. This will help you to attract more customers.
7. Finally provide a service what other parallel sites didn’t do.

These are my general suggestions as I’m not aware which website you’re developing now.
