When you make a blog on a site like 'bloggers' or 'blogspot' do you make 'friends' with other like on facebook or is it basically just a type of website for your self?
So who do people subscribe to your blog? Do they need a blog with the same site as yours?

blog is only a "online diary" as per the definition goes.......in a blog, you can :
1. write anything......be it a story or news or link or anything else...and there is no limit to number of words.
2. you can customize how your personal space looks on the web (social networks don't allow this)
3. interested readers can subscribe to your blog.
4. you can show ads on your blog....a small $5 per month to $500000 per year can be made (of course, it involves lot of hard work if u r solely focused on money alone)
5. you usually build a community of "writer" and "readers" ..........you can communicate with them and make friends them too......
Blog is fully/partially customisable but not a social network.those are just platforms for friends to meet..........

nope, but you can visit other blogs and make friend with other bloggers.
that's called "blogwalking".
