For the past month facebook chat has been taking as much as 5 minutes to send a message. This had never happened before, and we have not done anything new to our computer. Also there are no viruses. Can anyone explain what this is, and how to fix it?

does it say "sending" or something along the lines of that?
if so it might send it because sometimes people respond to it even though it says sending
try refreshing the page

If you internet connection is of high speed so this things happen less but when this thing happen so just refresh the page so your messages will be delivered to your friend at that time.
