I believe that online safety should involve both technical and personal safety. I use PayPal to protect my money on Ebay. I also limit my time on the computer and phone for health reasons.

•Just think before you post. What you think is funny, might be hurtful to others. It doesn't matter if you're on Yahoo! Answers or Facebook or your email or YouTube. You being witty could really hurt someone's feelings.
•Play it safe. Never give out personal information. If you buy online, check for a secure HTTPS connection, and it's safest to not use any form of wireless internet while shopping. Also, change settings on social networking profiles so only contacts or friends can see it.
•Take steps to protect your computer. Don't download from untrustworthy sources, install antivirus software and keep it up to date, delete cookies and browser history, and always log out of accounts, especially emails or bank accounts.
•In conclusion;
Yeah, we all have bad days and don't always think while we're online. The Internet is a wonderful place for information, fun, and communication, but we still need to remember who can see what we post. Everyone.

There is no way you can guarantee online safety because there will always be that one guy or girl that will decide to be a troll and hack you or do other macabre acts.

~ Use sites that clearly state how they will use your information, offer easy customer care, offer reasonable recourse in the event that someone hacks your account and promises to use your information in a sensitive fashion.

~Parental blocks and anti virus software to protect children from exposure to questionable sites.

~Do not allow children to be the administrator of any computer in the home so you can always see where they have been

~Make emails available with a link to a parents email so anything sent to or from the child is also sent to the parent.

~Monitor your child's Facebook and other social media site activities.

~Include a troll button on Y!A so people can report a troll when they encounter one. Seriously, I am asking that Y!A consider this option. This site is bombarded daily with troll accounts. People are posting very inappropriate things , quite often very upsetting in nature, and it would be easier to report them if there was a simple troll button. Something you select that requires no further action on your part, of course, the same reporting policies should apply.

well as it you lot i will say this you haven't a clue have you how to run servers no back up systems that is plain to see when things go pear shaped as we have witnessed so many times,
so pay the money get a real systems manager or two have a policy of son father and grandfather old fashioned it might be but it saves a lot of misery for them and there clients US.
so you should be using UNIX or at least LINUX with a two tier security system as the man said less likely to catch anything thing if an idiots are not in charge,
PAY PEANUTS YOU CAN ONLY AFFORD MONKEYS.
