You can never be 100% safe but stay off shady websites. Don't give out personal information. Have good antivirus. Use common sense.

Just got rid of 2 nasty viruses caused by a security breach with Java. Haven't reinstalled Java and I might not ever!

Didnt Yahoo Mail just get hacked into? With that going on i dont see how i people would celebrate safe internet day.

But if i did have to celebrate Safe internet day. Id probably do it by making out with the guy from Norton Anti Virus

MHALLIFAWAS.
Is made up from the first line of a nursery rhyme Mary had a little lamb.
Do not use this as it would be too common and perhaps IN USE ELSEWARE.
A better method is to choose your favourite song, one that you have held in your head for years; write down the first line and you could end up with something that is very difficult to plunder. I.e. HOW MANY TEARS CAN YOU CRY WHEN SOMEONE MAKES YOU BLUE.
The artists name could be used as a reminder if they were not a one song wonder.

Becomes HmtCuCwSmuB!u£ again this is a particular instance which you should NOT USE as it is now known to millions.

Always pause before clicking on links and if you don't recognize the site then avoid it at all costs. I'm like a kid in a candy store when it comes to this and its caused me problems in the past.

1. stay away from cyberbullys. If you do get to one ignore them and leave.
2. if your in a chat room and someone is making you feel uncomfortable leave.
3. stay away from bad websites. They may give you viruses and hack your computer.
4. if someone is harassing you tell them to stop. If they don't stop you may have to take action and tell someone.
5. if some says "i'm gonna hurt you" or "i'm going to beat up your friend" you may have to take action and tell someone.
6. saying "I want to kill you and eat your guts and put your head on a stick and burn your body" is illegal. if someone says that to you take action and tell someone or the cyperpolice.

watch out for scams and spam

the emails you get from Nigeria wanting your full name address and bank info are nothing but scams or spams, be careful of what you see and read online.
